Practice across the full question bank.
Understand why the correct answer works — not just which letter is right.
Spend more time on the questions you miss.
Practice under exam-style time pressure before exam day.
Every question tells you why the correct answer is correct and defines the terms it uses — so you learn the rule, not just the answer.
Questions are written from scratch against the official codes and agency publications for this exam — never copied from the real exam.
Every question and explanation is fully translated, with the English exam term kept alongside — not a shallow machine translation.

The C-1D Plumbing Contractor exam is the trade half of a Nevada plumbing license; the Contractor Management Survey (CMS) is the other half, and every NSCB applicant takes it. PSI's Nevada bulletin sets the C-1D format: 80 questions, a minimum passing score of 56, 3 hours, open book with the 2018 Uniform Plumbing Code, NFPA 54 and NFPA 58. Practice it in the free sample above: no sign-up, with a written explanation on every question.
The Nevada State Contractors Board requires every applicant, in every classification, to pass the Contractor Management Survey — the business-and-law exam — in addition to the trade exam. PSI's Nevada bulletin gives the CMS 60 questions, a minimum passing score of 45 and 2 hours; the C-1D Plumbing Contractor trade exam gets 80 questions, a minimum passing score of 56 and 3 hours. One examination portion costs $95 and two portions $140. A candidate who tests unsuccessfully waits 2 weeks before retaking each portion, and a third failure voids the application — you then re-apply directly with the Board.
C-1D is open book, and the bulletin's reference list for it is the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2018 edition (IAPMO), NFPA 54, the National Fuel Gas Code, 2012, and NFPA 58, the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code, 2014. You may highlight, underline and index the books before the session but never write in them; only permanent tabs are allowed, Post-It notes must be removed, and no additional papers, loose or attached, come in. One title is conspicuously absent: 29 CFR 1926 is on the bulletin's list of references NOT allowed in the room, even though Safety is five of the eighty questions — those you answer from trade knowledge. Then the edition trap. For code questions the exam is based only on the edition listed, the unamended 2018 model UPC. Nevada's own adoption has since moved on to a newer UPC edition with state amendments, so the book your local inspector enforces can give a different number than the one the exam keys. Tab the 2018 model edition for the exam and keep the amended code for the job.
PSI publishes 17 areas summing to 80 questions. Three areas carry 8 each — Gas Systems, Water Supply, and Drain, Waste and Vents — then Water Heaters and Venting 6 and Isometric Analysis and Plumbing Mathematics 6, followed by Piping, Valves and Controls 5 and Safety 5. Cleanouts, Backflow, Traps and Interceptors, and Hangers and Supports take 4 each, and the remaining six areas — Fixtures and Equipment, Hydronics, Joints and Connections, Solar, General Plumbing Requirements and Storm Drainage — take 3 each. Read it as a plan: water supply, drainage and venting together are nearly a third of the exam and live in UPC chapters 6, 7, 9 and 10, while gas and water heaters are another fourteen questions across chapter 12, chapter 5 and the two NFPA codes.
C-1D is a subclassification of the Board's C-1 Plumbing and Heating classification. In the Board's description it covers the materials and fixtures that create sanitary conditions in buildings: safe water supply, sanitary drainage and its venting, roof drainage, hydronic heating systems not exceeding 200,000 Btu, landscape irrigation, potable water heating including solar equipment, permanent gas supply for domestic and industrial use, and compressed air, vacuum and medical gas piping. A C-1D holder may also run the water and gas lines from the building to the meter. The full C-1 classification is a different exam — 120 questions, a minimum passing score of 84, 5 hours — and its reference list adds the 2018 Uniform Mechanical Code and NFPA 13. If plumbing is the work you do, C-1D is the narrower exam with the shorter book list.
You test on a computer at a PSI center in Nevada and PSI forwards the result to the Board. The bulletin lists NV C-1d Plumbing - Spanish among the exams offered in English and Spanish; to switch you call PSI at (855) 205-5827 or email examschedule@psionline.com. Registration fees are not refundable or transferable and expire with your eligibility, and applicants submit fingerprints for a state and national criminal history record as part of licensure. Applications, classifications, monetary limits and bonds are Board territory and are covered by the CMS — see the Nevada CMS practice test.
The full LICENA Nevada C-1D course is 500 questions across five blocks mapped to PSI's 17 areas. At 30 questions a day that is about three weeks: one pass to find the gaps, a second pass on the areas you missed, then the timed final at 80 questions in 3 hours — a pace of about two and a quarter minutes per question, which is tighter than most candidates expect from an open-book exam. That pace is the argument for practicing lookups rather than memorizing: tab Table 702.1 (drainage fixture units), Table 703.2 (drain and vent sizing), Table 1002.2 (trap arms), Tables 610.3 and 610.4 (water supply sizing) and Table 1215.2(1) (gas pipe sizing) early and use the same tabs every study session. Drill the slope, fixture-unit and pressure-drop arithmetic on paper for the Isometric Analysis area. The Safety area is answered from memory, so the free OSHA Construction Safety practice test is a useful companion, and the California C-36 plumbing practice test works the same UPC code family from the California side.
